If the 8.5x11 page boundaries are marked --, the page X is a tiny
image at the bottom of the whole page and it prints that way: a tiny
image on an otherwise blank page. (use monospaced fonts to view
ascii pictures correctly)

Thank you. I tried someone's 10.3.3 / Safari 1.2.1 and it still
doesn't work. If you're just looking at patent HTML, it's fine, but
if you click the red "Images" button above the text the Quicktime
displayed images are HUGE so you can't even see one whole
page. In 1.2.1, it's as if they are scaled to print one virtual page
on 4 real pages. (In Safari 1.0 / 10.2.8, they are tiny. Go figure.)

KNOW THE AC TUAL LAYOUT.

BUT I ONLY SEE THE TOP
LEFT PORTIO N on page 1.

I also tried Foxfire, Netscape and IE on the 10.3.3. Foxfire displays
"broken" or clipped images (top fraction of a page); Netscape seems to
work 2nd best; IE works the best. Didn't try Camino or Opera. Camino
0.7 in 10.2.8 displays a broken QT icon. Foxfire in 10.2.8 also displays
clipped images:

Only the top

displayed.

<-- blank; missing stuff

Someone who saw the 10.3.3 examples said they think it's something
to do with proper refreshing and sizing of the frames in Mozilla based
browsers. I have no idea.

Thank you for the offer, but it looks like it's still broken.

That is immaterial; the apparent size on the screen is unrelated to the
size on the paper.

If it is broken, it must be broken on your system because, as I wrote, I
made a PDF and printed it on my system, and it came out just fine--the
page fit on the page of paper.

I just tried printing it directly from the web page, and again it came
out just fine.

The only way I could duplicate your results was to drag the image to the
desktop to create a .tiff file, and print that file from Preview. (I
didn't try to print it from any other application, though.)

Yes, the image on the screen in Safari is way enlarged, but it prints
the correct size, either directly from Safari or from a PDF printed from
Safari.

The reason for this apparent difference in size is that a printer uses a
much higher resolution than the screen does; the printer is 300, 600, or
even more dots per inch (DPI), whereas the screen has fewer than 100 DPI.

so that's Safari 1.2 on OS 10.3.x?

And its fixed my Safari 1.0 OS 10.2.x problem? :

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A Very Large Image Spreads Across 3 Screens Width & Prints 1 Page Wide
or a long line of text with no return char does exactly the same

all else
scaled down
to fit in
proportion
------------------------------------------------------------------------

dang that's annoying.
Yes, scaled, sometimes a whole page becomes 2 inches wide, 3 point
At first I thought it was Safari Enhancer
but I've uninstalled (I hope :-(
and the problem's still there...
